I am a God fearing individual, and I’m also a father to two beautiful kids, a boy and a girl. I worked for Tekkie Town as a Sales Assistant, and I was chosen as the best Sales person for the entire Mpumalanga province. I also worked for the Department of agriculture as a Data capture. I have a passion for sports, football is one of my favourites and one day I wish I can own a soccer team. While I was in high school, I always wanted to be a lawyer, but due to financial constraints, I could not become one. My interest in the justice system came when I realised that the late former president Mr Nelson Mandela was also a lawyer representing his people. I wish one day I could give back to my community and its people because my community gave us the likes of the late Steve Bantu Biko, one of the BCM Members who fought for the people of South Africa. My community is one of the underdeveloped communities of this country, but I know that one day all of this will change because I know that with education anything is possible. When a child is educated, communities will change for the better and if one community changes, then our country will change for the better as well and poverty will be no more. Education topped with one’s perseverance is the key to a bright future for all. With this pandemic people have lost their jobs and in some households you find that no one is working and people resort to drugs and alcohol, some get depressed to a point of taking their own lives. If we can start developing jobs for people, our continent would become a better place for us all. Being part of an initiative that supports the empowerment of those less privileged is one of my greatest wishes. I will be glad if all my wishes do come through because nothing is as important as education and hard work, and an educated country means a better world for us all.

Yachting Synergy forms another prong in a global community of partners and platforms, each working in synergy with the other, each dynamically generating additional residual income streams, as you utilise your personal digital platforms to network. My "day" job is that of a business owner and manager, running our business, Absolutely SCUBA in Mossel Bay. Not only do we train divers and mentor and instruct Dive Professionals - many of whom, go on to crew abroad on sailing and super yachts - this is an especially exciting initiative... At my core, I am a dreamer and I dream big dreams. I am an extrovert, not shy to shine, unafraid to lead. I have entrepreneurial vision but pragmatism and circumstance have made for very practical decisions over the last two decades, leaving my dreams shelved, to gather only dust. I have it settled deep within my spirit, the desire to impact lives, in a beneficial way, and to do so, not just at home, but far and wide. I have for too long, been as a ship anchored, safely in Port. This is not what this ship was made for - I yearn to set sail, to explore the world. The time is near, the winds of change favourable. I have a few projects I’m busy with presently and I’m pregnant with promise and ambition. I am excited, committed, determined to tick off every item on my #BucketList, among the items - to #Managemybusiness #WorkFromWherever #exploreItaly, most of all, committed to move forward into the fullness of my raison d’être.

In 1963, founder Sanzio Nicolini boldly embarked on a challenging journey of adventure. His cutting-edge approach – building high-end luxury yachts in steel and aluminium for a demanding, select clientele – has borne considerable fruit. In the ’60s, CRN yachts ranged from 15 to 20 metres in length, sporting an instantly recognisable design. The first 23-metre project, Super Conero, led to ever larger, more prestigious vessels built in partnership with major designers who helped to forge CRN’s international reputation. CRN devotes maximum attention to craftmanship and style, representing the true added value of Designed & Made in Italy products. The essence of the shipyard's role is granting the wishes of its well-informed and demanding clients, and giving them a tangible form with no limits. More than technical skill and expertise, what makes a yacht a CRN yacht is the culture of a pursuit of perfection and an insistent attention to detail that our project managers, engineers, project architects, interior designers and sales team embrace. This is the beating heart of our idea of uniqueness, a marriage of total technical mastery with a passion for craftsmanship, forged and modelled around your concept of cruising. That’s why, as she gradually comes to life, a CRN yacht becomes the embodiment and exclusive fusion of your ideas and vision.

Back in 1969, in the English seaside town of Poole, Robert Braithwaite dreamt of building a new kind of boat. Using revolutionary materials and technology, his early designs were tailored to a handful of customers, keen to embrace new-found freedoms. Passed from generation to generation, these are the most important skills required to make a Sunseeker. In an age of digital production and automated assembly, we stay committed to creating hand-built, hand-finished boats – for one simple reason. There is no better way to craft such an exceptional product. Inside and out, the extraordinary detail, finish and sheer artistry of our yachts can only be achieved by human qualities. And, most importantly, no machine can ever give our boats such spirit, or take such pride in their creation – a vitality passed on to every owner. For our larger yachts, (over 100ft) we offer a true Bespoke service. This offers something very special…a clean canvas. This blank sheet of paper enables you to create a yacht personalized in any way you wish. From floor plans to unique furnishings, your imagination and passion can be fully expressed. St Blaize Marine is the dream enterprise of Ian and Ronèl Barnard, the co-founders, company visionaries and sole designer. Fishing and boating have always been synonymous with Ian. At the age of 16, Ian joined the navy to complete his mandatory military service year. Upon completion of this year, he set out for Mossel Bay in the Southern Cape to join his father in the commercial fishing industry, the period during which Ian and Ronèl met. Not long after however, Ian and his parents undertook the challenge of starting up and maintaining a flower farm. Being married by this time, the couple invested many years into the growth of the farm before branching out as separate business entities: with Ian starting up his own construction company and Ronèl likewise managing her very own flower shop. After numerous hardships and generally feeling unfulfilled and limited by their respective industries, Ian began to consider the prospect of pursuing his life-long passion for boating as a boat builder. Being a man of action, he soon made work of said considerations and was quickly joined by Ronèl, the two setting out on a shared endeavour once more, later to be known as St Blaize Marine. They were initially limited to boat- and boat trailer repair jobs, and though the change of scenery was welcome, Ian did not let his aspirations fade out there. By the generosity of numerous small contributors, perseverance, strength of will and as Ian himself likes to recall, the unquestionable answer of prayer by God, St Blaize Marine designed and produced an original boat design, later dubbed the Eclipse, within merely 2 months, from first paper draft to first usable prototype. The twin hull was designed solely by Ian and the first plug was constructed by hand from scratch by Ian and Ronèl themselves. The magnitude of this accomplishment would only begin to dawn on them when the plug took to water for the first testing, surpassing not only their expectations, but also their wildest dreams. Regardless of what outboard motor was fitted to it, Ian’s design glided through any water conditions and delivered a ride that is to this day difficult to formulate into words, piquing great local interest. The plug was put through various tests to gauge the design’s efficiency before ultimately being sent back to the workshop for the next step: the aesthetics. Ian once again solely undertook the task of designing the curved aesthetics that co-characterize the boat alongside its performance. In the winter of 2016, the very first finished Eclipse 680 had her launch in Mossel Bay. She was quickly spirited away to Mozambique for a month long field test and again managed to repeatedly astound onlookers, long time boating enthusiasts and even Ian himself. Word of this new design got out and soon, renowned boating magazine Leisure Boating, called to review the design. The review can be viewed on the Leisure Boating website, by clicking here. Furthermore, the success of the Eclipse 680 has led to St Blaize Marine obtaining the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Mercury dealership in Mossel Bay, along with both Lowrance and Garmin. St Blaize Marine is steadily growing as it continues to produce the Eclipse 680 and more models are in the pipeline. Soon our brand will expand into Australia, a prospect we anticipate fervently.

My name is Luis Guillermo Castro Martin. I am a philosopher specialized in philosophy of mind and language. In particular, I am interested in the nature of consciousness, and the way in which we experience and interpret the world. I started my studies at the Central University of Venezuela in 2006, where I obtained a bachelor’s degree in philosophy (2011) and a master’s degree in logic and philosophy of science (2015). In 2012, the university offered me a position as a professor of philosophy and I taught several courses there until 2017, when I enrolled in a PhD program at the University of Genoa, Italy. I have also published several papers in philosophy journals and participated in various international events. In 2020, while writing my PhD thesis, I realized that I had been immersed in philosophy for too long and decided to use my experience to rejoin the real world. In my years studying philosophy, I have learned many things, but the most important is that the world is what we make of it, there is no ultimate truth, no final word. We create our reality. Knowledge has somehow separated us from others and nature, perhaps it can also reunite us. Although I was born in Venezuela, my family is a blending of different nationalities and traditions. I have lived and studied in different countries, which are all part of who I am and what I want to be. My actions define me, not my nationality or my origins. I do not believe in borders or limits; they are only in our minds. The sensation of not belonging can be liberating, once we realize that, by not belonging somewhere, we belong everywhere. I speak three languages (Spanish, English, and Italian) and I enjoy learning from other cultures, as well as transmitting the values of my own. I also enjoy music, sports and nature. I am the author of “Fragments of Mind” on Substack. A space for thinking outside the box, while discussing philosophical matters.

In 1981, after 89 years of commercial operation, the Port of Preston closed. The town of Preston was faced with the question of what to do with a 40 acre basin of water just outside of the town centre. It did not take long before the idea of redeveloping the docklands area into a leisure/retail and residential centre emerged, with a marina at its heart. It was never going to be easy, with a location that is up an extremely tidal and shallow river some 16 miles from the rough and exposed Irish Sea , it could hardly be argued to an ideal place to start a marina. Many prominent figures from the worlds of yachting and business looked at and then shied away from the idea, but one Preston based yachtsman, whose small road transport business had regularly worked from the Port thought that although Preston will never be an ideal cruising ground, perhaps with a lot of hard work and some creative and diverse thinking Preston Marina might be a useful winter base for boat owners from the North West of England, and so formed a Company. In 1985, before the surrounding land was re-developed, a “trial version” of Preston Marina was opened, initially with only 6 swinging moorings in the dock basin and not much else around – but gradually boats started to come – and indeed found us to be the useful winter or laying-up base that was at the heart of the concept. A lot has happened since 1985….with fully serviced pontoon berths, boatyard, chandlery and lifestyle shop and a very popular water-side coffee shop (all of which opened in April 1990), Preston Marina has become a hub of Lancashire’s small but vibrant boating community as well as the jewel in the crown of the City (since 2002) of Preston’s Riversway Docklands.
